We are followers of Jesus Christ living in joyful, loving fellowship within his Catholic Church through the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter.
Jesus said, “And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” (Matthew 18:5-6)
Following our Lord Jesus’s strict command, St. Alban's Catholic Church, and our diocese the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, are committed to providing a safe environment for all our parishioners -- from the youngest to the oldest.
As a part of that effort, the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter has instituted a robust Safe Environment program. St. Alban’s Catholic Church participates fully in that program. We provide mandatory training (including detailed background checks) through Catholic Mutual Group (CMG Connect) for all volunteers who may be in a position to work with children under 18 years old. We also educate parents and provide them materials to use in discussing safe environment issues with their own children.

For any questions about St. Alban’s safe environment program, or if you would like to begin the safe environment training process, please contact St. Alban’s parish office here.
Protecting Our Children: A Family’s Response to Sexual Abuse, a new video produced by the Knights of Columbus, presents parents with the scope and scale of the risks families face from sexual abuse in today’s society and provides them with knowledge and concrete steps they can follow to help keep their children safe.
If you suspect a child is being abused or maltreated, please call immediately New York State’s Office of Children and Family Services hotline: 1-800-342-3720.
If you believe that a child is in immediate danger, please call 911, or the local Irondequoit Police Department at (585) 336-6000.
