We have some joyous news! The Fellowship of St. Alban has moved to our new home: St. Cecilia's church, part of the St. Kateri Tekakwitha parish in Irondequoit, NY. St. Alban's parish priest, Fr. Evan Simington, has also been blessed to serve as a parochial vicar at St. Kateri. The new move will allow St. Alban's to expand its evangelizing ministry, while complementing St. Kateri's ministries. We're excited for this new chapter as an Ordinariate community.
St. Alban's regular schedule at St. Cecilia's is 11:30 a.m. Mass (Divine Worship) and 10:45 a.m. Confession on Sundays. For Holy Days during the week, we will have Mass at 7 p.m. and Confession at 6:15 p.m.
Our new home is right off the Culver Rd. exit on the NY-104 Expressway. The location is also very friendly for those with disabilities or special needs, and families with little ones.
We're looking forward to this exciting chapter in our ministry, which will help us to reach more people with the Good News of Jesus Christ that comes through the fullness of the Catholic faith. We are very thankful to the St. Kateri Tekakwitha parish and pastor Fr. Paul English, for their kind and generous invitation for us to relocate to St. Cecilia's church and be co-workers in the vineyard with them.
Good Shepherd was our home for more than 5 years since the Fellowship of St. Alban began, and we are deeply grateful for all the generosity and support St. Marianne Cope parish gave us during those formative years.
We had our final Ordinariate Mass at Good Shepherd church on Feb. 11, and offered the Mass for the people of the St. Marianne Cope parish (which Good Shepherd is part of). After Mass, we packed up the church, had a final blessing, and bade a fond farewell to St. Alban's first home.
Our first Mass at St. Cecilia's was the 7 p.m. Ash Wednesday Mass (Feb. 14). Our first Sunday Mass there will be Feb. 18, the First Sunday of Lent, at 11:30 a.m., and will be offered for the people of the St. Kateri Tekakwitha parish.
May God bless you all! Please pray for us as we embark on this next exciting step in St. Alban's journey.
