We are followers of Jesus Christ living in joyful, loving fellowship within his Catholic Church through the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter.
St. Alban's Catholic Church is having a 7PM Holy Hour to pray the rosary and have silent adoration on Wednesday, January 22, the 47th anniversary of the infamous Roe v. Wade abortion decision. We will be praying for both an end to abortion, and for a culture where every life is loved, valued and supported from conception to natural death. St. Alban's parish priest Father Evan Simington will hear confessions, and conclude the evening with benediction. The holy hour takes place at St. Kateri-Cecilia's church where St. Alban's is co-located. The address is 2732 Culver Rd., Rochester, NY 14622.
On Jan. 23, St. Alban's parish priest and some parishioners will be traveling down to Washington, D.C. for the annual March for Life. We leave St. Alban's / St. Cecilia's at approx. 2 PM on Thurs. and will overnight in D.C. On Friday, Jan. 24, after breakfast at the hotel, we'll join the 10 AM Ordinariate Mass before the March at Immaculate Conception church (not the basilica) on 8th street in Washington, D.C. We'll then proceed to join the March rally which starts at noon and then prayerfully walk to the U.S. Supreme Court. We expect to leave for Rochester between 4 - 6 PM once we reach the US Supreme Court.
The parish is covering the cost of travel. The cost of an individual hotel room which includes breakfast is $71.29. We still have 3 spots left, but reservations have to be finalized by 10 PM, Jan. 22. If you'd like to join us, contact us here or give the parish clerk, Peter Smith, a call at 585-484-1827.
"O GOD our Creator, we give thanks to thee, who alone hast the power to impart the breath of life as thou dost form each of us in our mother's womb: grant, we pray; that we, whom thou hast made stewards of creation, may remain faithful to this sacred trust and constant in safeguarding the dignity of every human life; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen." ~ Collect for the Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children (Jan. 22).
