We are followers of Jesus Christ living in joyful, loving fellowship within his Catholic Church through the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter.
The Fellowship of St. Alban's Meet the Ordinariate Night promises to be a delightful social evening of Christian fellowship as well as ecumenical dialogue with the Bishop of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter; The Most Reverend Steven J. Lopes.
Bishop Lopes, who was appointed the North American Ordinariate's first bishop by Pope Francis, will deliver a keynote address on "The Ordinariate, Mutual Enrichment, and the New Evangelization."
Bishop Lopes, will be discussing the mission and vision of the Personal Ordinariate and how it relates Jesus’ prayer: “that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” (John 17:21)
Bishop Lopes will also explain how the Ordinariate provides a source of "mutual enrichment" for the wider Church by seeing how we approach liturgy and prayer, the Bible, and parish life. As the permanent home for the English spiritual and liturgical patrimony in the Catholic Church, the Ordinariate serves the New Evangelization by following Pope Francis's call to use these gifts to lead people into a deeper relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
The congregation of the Fellowship of St. Alban will be hosting this event from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and serving light hors d’oeuvres. After Bishop Lopes' keynote, we will have two additional short talks given by some of the lay faithful at the Fellowship of St. Alban to highlight how the Ordinariate's ministry in Rochester has changed their own lives.
