May the Lord Christ bless you and your families on this Thanksgiving Day!
At St. Alban's we have a great deal to be thankful for. Our growing parish is literally thanks to Benedict XVI founding the Ordinariate 10 years ago with
Anglicanorum Coetibus, and to that small group of Anglicans that responded to the pope's invitation to become fully Catholic with Anglican traditions and so formed the Fellowship of St. Alban. We've grown so much since then, and look forward to so much more as St. Alban's Catholic Church.
When you have a chance, please watch this beautiful homily from Father Evan that meditates on what that leap of faith to discover the joy of full communion in the Catholic Church has meant, and how the Lord has multiplied the blessing of that faith for so many more. For this and all the Lord's blessings, we are truly thankful.
In your kindness, please remember the poor, the hungry, and those who have no family to spend this day. Here's a Thanksgiving Day collect you can pray together:
ALMIGHTY and gracious Father, we give thee thanks for the fruits of the earth in their season and for the labours of those who harvest them: make us, we beseech thee, faithful stewards of thy great bounty, for the provision of our necessities and the relief of all who are in need, to the glory of thy Name; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.
