In the tradition of Lewis, Tolkien, and Chesterton we'll have an open pub discussion: "What does the Ordinariate's Gregorian missionary imperative mean for Rochester -- what does it mean for us?"
The Ordinariate's English tradition exists thanks to the Pope and Bishop of Rome -- and especially to Pope St. Gregory the Great who launched the mission to the English (known as Angles and Saxons) whom people at the time thought couldn't be evangelized. "Not Angles, but angels!" St. Gregory the Great said when he encountered the English (Angles) in Rome's slave market. He recognized their human dignity and infinite worth -- and most importantly he wanted them to have the freedom that comes through Jesus Christ! And that's why the Ordinariate's English tradition exists -- to build Christ's Kingdom in every human heart!
So come join us: the plan is to meet at The Old Stone Tavern (758 South Ave, Rochester, NY 14620). Peter Smith will lead our discussion -- we'll cast off the evening around 9:30pm singing a traditional British pub song and the "Salve Regina."
