Based on the recommendation of St. Alban's pastoral council, our St. Alban's Catholic parish community came together to support the school supply collection at Mary’s Place, a non-profit refugee outreach center in the City of Rochester.
Our parishioners made a generous response to serve Jesus who dwells among us in the Holy Eucharist and asks us to serve him in those who are most in need. We collected backpacks, pens, pencils, erasers, markers, crayons, composition and spiral notebooks, paper, folders and binders, etc. We brought them together before Jesus at the 11:30 AM Sunday Mass on Aug. 18, had a special prayer at coffee hour for our families whose children would benefit from them. Finally, on Tuesday, Aug. 20, Fr. Evan and some representatives of St. Alban's all brought them to Mary’s Place. Thank you to all for your generosity, and please keep our refugee families in your prayers as they make a new start here in Rochester!
