During this time of quarantine and social distancing, many thoughts have probably crossed your mind. Undoubtedly, concerns about your health and family well-being are at the top of the list. Many of you may also be significantly concerned about your financial situation. All of us are facing similar concerns and anxieties, but please take comfort and consolation from these words of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI:
Dear friends, may no adversity paralyze you. Be afraid neither of the world, nor for the future, nor for your weakness. The Lord has allowed you to live in this moment of history, so that, by your faith, His name will continue to resound throughout the world.
And, as always, remember the words of Jesus Christ, our Savior:
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27)
As we face all these concerns together apart, I also humbly ask you to consider any ways that you can help to financially support St. Alban's.
Our primary preference is for all of you to join our online giving, by going to stalbanscatholic.com/give and setting up your online account.
If you are at all concerned about online giving, be assured online giving is safe and secure. Online gifts meet the same security standards as online banking, the reporting and processing of donations is much faster and efficient, and you can set up a recurring donation and adjust your tithe as needed. It also helps reduce the need to travel to the bank and drop off checks and cash which unfortunately carries the potential of exposure to illness.
If you would prefer to donate via mail during this time of quarantine, please make your checks out to St. Alban's Catholic Church, mailing them to the rectory where I live:
445 Kings Highway S. Rochester, NY 14617.
I will gratefully receive all donations and deposit them weekly.
If you cannot donate at this time, I desperately desire your prayers. Pray for an end to this scourge of the Coronavirus. Pray for all of us who have been affected by this pandemic. Pray for Pope Francis. Pray for Bishop Lopes. Pray for Bishop Matano. Pray for me and pray for all of us at St. Alban's.
I am eternally grateful for your willingness to support St. Alban's during this time of trial.
May God richly bless you and protect you,
Fr. Evan Simington Parochial Administrator
St. Alban’s Catholic Church
